At The Movies?

 

Turn a piece of paper sideways ( landscape mode) and draw three objects:

  1. Draw a circle in the middle of the paper. Label it “NOW”.
  2. Draw a square on the left side of the paper. Label it “PAST”.
  3. Draw a Triangle on the right side of the paper. Label it “FUTURE”.
  4. Draw an arc from the PAST square to the FUTURE triangle. Label it “MOVIES”.

There are only 3 places that you can be at any ONE moment.

  1. You can be in the PAST, remembering something that HAS happened.
  2. You can be in the FUTURE, imagining something that MAY happen.
  3. You can be here, NOW, experiencing something that IS happening.

You cannot be in more than one of the above 3 positions at any given moment.

     Look at the square labeled PAST. To be in the PAST you use your MEMORY to attempt to remember what HAS happened. Of course, there is no way you can possibly remember all of the details, but you do remember the general details as well as the FEELING that is associated with the memory. Because you cannot remember every little detail, your memory is clouded by the emotion/feeling attached to the event. Therefore, the past is an ILLUSION. An illusion is a MOVIE — something pretending to be whatever the creator wants it to be. The PAST is a MOVIE. Label it “MOVIE”.  Examples of PAST MOVIES are:

  • • resentment
  • • guilt
  • • depression
  • • sadness
  • • poor me
  • • why me
  • • anger
  • • hate

     You cannot be feeling any of the above emotions in the NOW. You must go into the PAST to feel these emotions. You have to “go to the movies” to feel these emotions. You must use your memory (recall) to feel these emotions. These emotions are figments of your memory. They are PAST MOVIES. They are an ILLUSION. As long as you are AT THE MOVIES you are being controlled and manipulated by your MemGram®. If you are at a PAST MOVIE you are not in the NOW and you are not in the FUTURE. You are not in control of your life. You are living The Plan Against Your Life.

     Now, look at the triangle labeled FUTURE. To be in the FUTURE, you use your IMAGINATION to predict how something will be in the future. You create a FUTURE MOVIE. Of course, there is no way you can predict exactly how something will be in the future, so it is an ILLUSION. It is a FUTURE MOVIE to which you have an emotional reaction, but it is to a fictitious event, therefore it is an ILLUSION. Label the FUTURE triangle as a MOVIE. Examples of FUTURE MOVIES are:

  • • anxiety
  • • fear
  • • nervousness
  • • worry
  • • what if

     You cannot be feeling any of the above emotions in the NOW. You must go into the FUTURE to feel these emotions. You have to “go to the movies” to feel these emotions. You must use your imagination to create a movie to which you can have an emotional reaction. These emotions are figments of your imagination. They are FUTURE MOVIES. They are an ILLUSION. As long as you are AT THE MOVIES you are being controlled and manipulated by your MemGram®. If you are at a FUTURE MOVIE you are not in the NOW and you are not in the PAST. You are not in control of your life. You are living The Plan Against Your Life.

     Now, look at the circle in the center labeled NOW. It is right now, isn’t it? And, as soon as you say “yes”, it already isn’t. A new NOW moment has taken the place of the previous one. NOW is a series of NOW moments that happen whether you want it to or not. You don’t have to DO anything to be in the NOW. Except, you must train yourself to recognize when you are at a PAST MOVIE or a FUTURE MOVIE. The second that you realize you are “at the movies” you are automatically in the NOW. Tricky, isn’t it?

     In other words, you DO have to do something to take yourself out of the NOW, where you are by default. You must use your memory or your imagination. Most people are bouncing back and forth between these two — and they wonder why their life doesn’t work? The NOW is where your Soul Pattern resides — everything that you ever wanted for your life is there waiting for you to claim it. The PAST and the FUTURE is where your MemGram® resides.

     You can’t feel sadness, depression, guilt, resentment, anger or hate right NOW. You must go to a PAST movie to feel those emotions, even if just for a few seconds. You have to live an ILLUSION in order to feel those emotions.

     You cannot feel anxiety, fear, nervousness or worry right NOW. You must go to a FUTURE movie to feel those emotions, even if just for a few seconds. You have to live an ILLUSION in order to feel those emotions.

     Therefore, the challenge is to NOTICE when you are “at the movies.” As soon as you REALIZE that you are “at the movies”, you AREN’T! Why? Because, in order to see yourself at a PAST MOVIE you have to be in the NOW to do it. In order to see yourself in a FUTURE MOVIE you have to be in the NOW to do it. Therefore, being in the NOW is the solution. It is also the hardest thing you will ever do.

     It is difficult to do because the physical dimension in which you exist is set up to keep you “at the movies.” We spend most of our day “at the movies” and then, at night, we even make a physical move and PAY to go to the movie theater or watch a movie on TV or other electronic device. Amazing! Make a list of all of the ways there are to be distracted from NOW and you will see why it so easy for our MemGram® to control and manipulate us for an entire lifetime.

     Make a concerted effort to catch yourself “at the movies” without passing judgment on yourself for succumbing to the same old Dragon tricks. Every second you spend realizing that you are “at the movies” or were just “at the movies” is another second that you spend in the NOW. The more time you spend in the NOW, the more time your Soul Pattern has to gently guide you on your way to being, doing and having life the way YOU deserve it!
